Business Office Cup Final - Press Release, Samoa Soccer Media, Apia

Department of Agriculture edges out Apia Bottling in Grand Final.

In the Grand Final of the Business House Cup Knockout, the Department of Agriculture took on Apia Bottling last night in what was a most entertaining affair. It was certainly serious business but despite the result both teams and sets of supporters made this a memorable evening by enjoying every minute of the occasion.

Pepsi colours, flags and banners were adorned by the Apia Bottling supporters whilst the Agriculture Department had good support in green. The game was end to end with many chances created and missed by both teams and at the end of normal time they were still locked at 0-0.

A penalty shootout resulted and after 4 attempts, the score was still tied at 3-3 with both teams having missed one each. Apia Bottling missed the fifth then up stepped "Happy Valley", Veli Vatu the ex Manu Samoa full back, to calmly convert his kick to secure the Cup for the Agriculture Department, much to the delight of team mates and supporters.

Well done both teams who performed well and at the finish of a tense penalty shootout, they congratulated each other in true Samoan tradition.

"Fetu ole Moana" one of the oldest Business House teams celebrated ten years of football this year and yesterday they played a celebration match against Executive Members and staff of the SFSF. Again in an entertaining game Fetu scored a late winner to beat the Federation side 3-2, which included President Toleafoa Tautulu Roebeck and General Secretary Tilomai Solia. Goal mouth excitement abounded in a game thoroughly enjoyed by all.

In an after match presentation all 4 teams were thanked for their efforts and President Toleafoa Tautulu Roebeck congratulated "Fetu ole Moana" on 10 years of playing and promoting the game. Fr Falaniko Makulino was then presented with a magnificent Federation shield to commemorate their achievements.

The Samoa Football Soccer Federation wishes to acknowledge all teams and their sponsors and thank them all for another marvellous season of Business House Soccer.
