My connection to James Li'o Bourne is through my mother. I believe that he is my great grandfather who is from the village of Sapapalii who was married to my great grandmother Tufa Finau or Siolo from Lefaga. I am told there are other names he was also known by, Jimmy Bourne or James Li'o Tama.
I'm not sure how many times he married but I know that he bore 2 children with Tufa, my grandmother Olovesi Bourne and granduncle Tuavae Li'o Bourne. I was told that he remarried and moved to Pesega with his new wife. I am trying to trace back my mothers family tree and am sure we are definitely connected.
I have the following information but am not sure if it is correct or the same person to whom we may be connected too. Is it possible for you to ask your uncle to confirm this.
James Bourne (b.1804) married Mua Matautia (b.1806) had 5 children
Morris (b.1830), James (b.1832), Michael (b.1834), Elsie (b.1836) and John (b.1838).
Morris married Maria Li'o (b.1834) and had 2 children
Mary (b.1858) and James Li'o (b.1866)-(d.1950).
I appreciate any information you have and hope this helps the both of us in anyway.
