It’s interesting that you should bring that up. According to you and our Samoan legend, Samoa is the “cradle of Polynesia”, while Tongan history on the other hand regards Tonga as the “cradle of Polynesia.” Both stories, handed down through generations, of creation by their god, Tagaloa… I’ll stop here since you obviously believe in myths and more than likely are familiar with the rest of this story… Entertaining for sure but don’t an argument make.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell us that cultures are a continuous evolutionary process and as such are constantly being modified. Consequently, you and I may share our “Samoaness” but it doesn’t mean we share the same cultural views. I look at my “past” as a SHARED HERITAGE that is valued by different people for different reasons and that we are ALL a part of the great Human Continuum.
