Hi there, I myself have just recently returned from Samoa, I was there for the 2005 Teuila. I went with a relo of mine to bye some metals form the home renovation, anyhow, the chick he was talking to was very friendly and joking around with him, you know the giggles etc. then when I went to pay the Pich, she gave me a really sour look, the funny thing is she snatched my money from my hands, and boy did I go off, yes, i said "o le a le mea ua e faoa ai fua le kupe?" and gues what? the pich said nothing, then her gutus were really faa'uu, she gave my change and I said "piki luga ou lauguku lena e kaukau lalo" my relo laughed and we walked out. I had the same shit attitude shown to me at the bank, it's like, man did I do something wrong or what.... anyhow the security guard outside the bank was very friendly, maybe because he was expecting me to give him 2 tala or something, after my third visit I found that he was still very friendly not only towards me but other visitors as well, so I ended up giving him money....... So as to the poor customer service, and don't get me wrong here.......... as the only shops I have visited were female shopkeepers, i found them very arrogant and outright rude, mind you the internet cafe person was very friendly but I think thats because he, sorry she, sorry it, was a fafafine..... well nothing more to bore you with, I new I was in for a bad surprise when I received a bad reception from the pich at the airport, who treated me like some scumbag and went through all my bloody bags, took out my computer, etc. I asked her if I was supposed to give her any money, and says why, I said the couple before me Samoans I might add, gave her money, put it in her hand which she never let go off and she motioned them through..... mind you as she was looking through my bags, she still had in her right hand the nz $20 note from this couple, she was pissed of at me after I said that then expected me to close my bags and leave, I told her to close them coz she had opened them. This is very bad for Samoa, to treat their own people like this is very bad customer service....
Its keeps reminding me of little Aggie Hewsons song... O a'u ole Samoa, which means nothing to these uncivilised minority, unfortunately they spoil it for everyone else......
