This book is intended to be used as a coursebook for those to whom Samoan is not the first language. Whilst it's New Zealand origins are visible to all, from the examples and photographs contained, it should make an excellent first choice for anyone wishing to develop basic conversational Samoan. As well as introducing a reasonable vocabulary any student using this book would gain a thorough grasp of Samoan grammar. The student can judge how they are improving through the frequent use of small excerises, 154 in total. Whilst this book can be bought on its own, it makes sense to purchase it with the audio cassette below which we ensure that correct pronunciation is developed as well.
This tape should be purchased in association with the Gagana Samoa: A Samoan Language Coursebook, above.
