It is a collection of some of the letters written by Robert Louis Stevenson whilst he lived at his house beneath the slopes of Mt. Vaea. In and amongst his correspondance to publishers, agents and friends there are interesting observations about life in Samoa and the political intrigue in progress at the end of the 19th century.
