Monday 23rd February - Solomon Islands -
Honiara
Went into
Honiara to change some travellers checks at the Solomon Islands National Bank. Service is
not a concept the employee dealing with our request had seemed to grasp. On our way we ran
into another problem, the traffic jams. The other title that Honiara could claim is Most
Congested City in the World. It can take upto three quarters of an hour to get through the
middle of the town, a disance of about 2 miles. There are 3 factors that cause the
problems, the number of potholes and the evasive actions taken by drivers, the number of
buses stopping and the number of taxis stopping. |
