Officers of the Ministry of Police, Prisons and Fire Services Receive Promotion in Ranks

Cabinet has approved the Promotion in Ranks of several Officers of the Ministry of Police, Prisons and Fire Services.

The Police Service Act 1977, Sections 6, 7 and 8 provide the guidelines, which state those officers who are eligible to be promoted in rank. These promotions are also in accordance with the 1970 Police Regulations that have been put in place.

Five officers have been promoted to the position of Superintendent: Fou Taioalo, Penani Lemuelu, Uili Lafaele, Enele Tiatia, Talamesi Fitisemanu. Seven have been promoted to the position of Chief Inspector: Motootua Sakaio, Muliaga Tiumalu, Tusimona Tinai, Mata’u Matafeo, Siaosi Toilolo, Aviga Salale, Talaimanu Keti. Eleven others have been promoted to the rank of Inspector, namely: Tupe Ioane, Alesana Laki, Iosefatu Wright, Talalelei Tapu, Kapeliele Su’a, Fineaso Aimaasu, Tipasa Matamu, Douglas Fereti, Lomano Paulo, Aneteru Tago, Pati Taulapapa.
